It’s that time of the year again, when everyone sets goals and makes New Year’s resolutions. Well, this year I’ve decided to revive my old blogging habits. But don’t worry, I’m not going to be writing about the food I ate for breakfast (I’ve got a different blog for that…). I thought it would be nice to share some of my professional experience and show you what kind of work is involved in the various projects I’ve got going, with the occasional personal musings and kitty photos thrown in for good measure.
With my 30th birthday looming 2013 seems like a good year to get quite a few things in my life sorted. Changing my bad eating habits, getting more sleep, minimising procrastination, and adding some more planning to all aspects of my business are the top priorities. Although working from home has a lot of benefits, a lack of a set schedule can be a drawback. It’s easy to negate setting deadlines and see the time fly by while work is not really getting done.
A few goals for 2013 in no particular order:
- finish the book cover design portfolio in January
- write and publish my five-part Christmas romance series
- write and publish three other books
- lose weight (who doesn’t have this on their list?)
- create a non-book product
- add structure to my working schedule
- pass the UK citizenship test
The list might not look very exciting at the moment, but that’s just some big points. As one of the things I need to work on is setting more achievable goals I will likely be devoting quite some time in January to ironing out deadlines and creating weekly schedules. In fact my list of projects that I would like to get done is so large that a big part of the exercise will be deciding what I am NOT going to be working on this year.
Over to you, have you got any big goals for 2013?
